Time to add your Scottish ancestors!
29th September 2004
1881 CENSUS OF SCOTLAND
When we launched the site with the England & Wales census we promised we’d add more censuses as soon as we could, and we’re glad to say that as from today you can enter ancestors from the 1881 Census of Scotland.
As you probably know, Scotland is excluded from the online 1881 census at FamilySearch, but fortunately there are two easy ways to find your Scottish ancestors on the census.
One is to buy the CD ROM version of the 1881 Census (see the FamilySearch site for your nearest distributor); the other is to view the census online at Scotland’s People, the official family history site for Scotland (www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk).
