There's a good reason why we began with only one census year from each country, and if you're about to suggest that we add other census years, you may want to consider this first.

We aim to identify members who share the same ancestors automatically and with 100% accuracy - that's what makes LostCousins totally unique. There's no way we could do this with information from different censuses, and that's why when LostCousins started we focused on the 1880/81 censuses.

As an analogy, imagine that you were holding a family reunion. Would you give your relatives a choice of dates, or would you try to get them all along on the same day?

Why did we choose 1880/81? Because most of those censuses are available free online, which means that cousins all over the world can access them.
