How did you first find this site? Did you find it by accident, or did someone recommend it to you?

The most successful web sites depend on satisfied users telling their friends and family - and we hope that you would like to tell your friends, and your family, all about LostCousins.

Spread the news!

Most people don't realise how much easier it is to research their family history in the Internet age.

Your friends and relatives don't need a computer of their own to join LostCousins! We'll provide you with instructions that you can print out and give to them. Provided they can get access to a computer (perhaps at work, at the library, or at a friend's house) they can join. All they will need to do before registering is to sign up for a free email address from Yahoo, Hotmail, or one of the other providers.

What's in it for me?

The more people who register their ancestors on the site, the better the chances of tracking down your lost cousins. You probably aren't related to your friends - but you might be. And there's a much higher chance that you'll be related to one of their friends, and so on...

So it makes a lot of sense for you to refer others to the site!

What's in it for them?

If your relatives join LostCousins they can share the information you've already entered in respect of your ancestors - which for anyone new to family history is a great way to start!

And because they don't have to duplicate what you've already done, they can focus on finding new ancestors.

What should I do next?

If you've already joined LostCousins, then we recommend you sign in. Referrals made by registered users are automatically tracked so that you'll know when your friend or relative joins. Once they have joined you'll be able to send them messages via the site - useful if you don't have their email address to hand!

Even if family history is not for you, you can still tell others about the site (almost every family has someone who has started making a family tree). Click on Recommend this Site, enter your friend or relative's details, and we'll do the rest.
